Hamad International Airport
Welcome to Hamad International Airport!
It opened in April 2014 to replace the former Doha International airport. It is located about 5km southeast from downtown Doha. One of the best airports worldwide in terms of facilities, convenience and location. The airport boasts of several art objects created by international and local artists and exposed throughout the airport. The most impressive one stands on the main plaza, the huge 'Lamp Bear' designed by the Swiss artist Urs Fisher.
The airport has one big terminal with a central plaza and 5 Concourses A B and CDE together.
Once at the airport and if you have quite a few hours of transit time, take the chance to take a free tour to Doha. At the entrance of concourse B there is an Information desk where you can sign up and have a tour for free! There are 5 tours per day and you have to be at the desk 1hour before the tour starts. It takes time to pass through immigration to get a stamp on your passport and exit the airport. The tour lasts almost 3 hours and you have the chance to get a glimpse of the most important places in this unique city.
